Kano Watanabe is a multi-media creative who primarily works with wood as her canvas. Her work incorporates found materials, up-cycled in hopes of restoring life and beauty to them once again. Drawing on the multicultural intersection of her Japanese ancestry and Hawai’i-raised experience, her work blends eastern elements with concepts of aloha ‘āina. With the belief that "art is the purest expression of a soul," her work not only represents foundational values of the waking world, but also those of a dreamy, spiritual world, in hopes to ignite deep imagination within us all to help generate a better world.
